Grant/Contract Management60

1. In adherence to funding agency and UNMC Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) guidelines, complete grant and contract applications for submission to local and national funding sources, including the gathering and preparation of supporting documentation, forms, budgets and signatures. (E)

2. Coordinate projects with department and campus accounting staff to ensure budget accuracy and reporting pre- and post- award. (E)

3. Review drafts of proposals, including project narratives, budget, and other supporting documentation, in a timely manner to meet grant application deadlines. (E)

4. Assist faculty and department with identifying potential applicable grants, using resources like grant listings and automated databases; examines the terms and conditions of individual grants to confirm the organization is eligible; and provides guidance and assistance to investigators in the interpretation of funding agency regulations and requirements. (E)

5. Responsible for database of pending and completed grant submissions for department, and reporting updates to research lead, faculty and senior management. (E)

6. Assist research leadership with development of specialization to improve operations and processes. (D)

Academic Research Support30

1. Maintain faculty calendars and schedules, coordinating meetings, events and activities.

2. Order laboratory supplies and equipment through the eShop and SAP computer systems. Contact vendors pre- and post-ordering for cost effective ordering and issue resolution. Maintain purchase records. (E)

3. Maintain and update individual faculty curriculum vitaes (CVs) and biosketches. (E)

4. Conduct library searches and retrieve articles from the campus library or internet.

5. Assist in creating multimedia materials for faculty such as scientific manuscripts, conference abstracts, lectures, and presentations. Develop, order, and review printing of scientific posters for conferences. (D)

6. Working with department travel coordinator, coordinate travel for faculty and laboratory personnel, including conference registrations, travel authorizations, and expense reimbursements, providing additional documentation as required by UNMC policies and accounting offices. (E)

7. Assist with the preparation of financial spreadsheets, charts, etc. as needed. (D)

8. Assist in the preparation, submission and update of institutional research compliance applications such as IBCs, IRBs, and IACUCs for board approval. (D)

General Administrative Support10

1. Coordinate activities of a research administrative office, including greeting vendors, staff, students, and visitors, as well as distributing information and/or alerts of departmental or campus events or communications. (E)

2. Answer, screen and/or respond to phone inquiries, and direct calls to correct faculty and personnel. (E)

3. Compose, prepare, and route correspondence and memos. (E)

4. Compile information, maintain database, analyze data, and prepare reports as needed.(E)

5. Distribute mail, deliveries, faxes, etc., ensuring that laboratory packages are handled appropriately upon receipt. (E)

6. Responsible for timely and cost-effective ordering of office supplies for the research administrative offices of the department. (E)

7. Assist in maintaining office equipment and contact appropriate vendors for repair and service. (E)

8. Assist other department support personnel, research lead, and supervisor when requested. (D)
