  1. Implement a variety of evidence-based behavior therapy procedures to promote suppression of challenging behaviors and acquisition of appropriate alternative behaviors across multiple patients referred for assessment and treatment of severe destructive behaviors. (E)
  2. Assist with assessment procedures (e.g., functional behavior assessment, preference assessment, developmental assessment) across multiple patients referred for assessment and treatment of severe destructive behaviors. (E)
  3. Implement behavioral management strategies independently, and with a team, to de-escalate behavioral crisis situations across multiple patients referred for assessment and treatment of severe destructive behaviors. (E)
  4. Respond with composure to escalated behavioral crisis situations in order to communicate and intervene effectively with other team members and supervisors, especially in situations where a patient is directing physical aggression toward staff. (E)
  5. Assist with teaching and directing daily living skills (e.g., lunch, bathroom, hygiene) across multiple patients referred for assessment and treatment of severe destructive behaviors. (E)

  2. Report behavior and environment variables in observable and measurable terms to case manager and other staff. (E)
  3. Collect daily data on all behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs across multiple patients. (E)
  4. Assist in data collection for clinical evaluations supervised by case managers and faculty. (E)

  1. Gather session materials (e.g., discriminative stimuli, reinforcers, protective equipment, academic material). (D)
  2. Daily cleaning and organizational tasks that include, but is not limited to, sanitizing, cleaning, and organizing toys, materials, and clinic areas. (D)

  1. Read protocols related to behavior reduction and skill acquisition and review data sheets/data collection methods. (E)
  2. Assist in communicating important daily updates to stakeholders (e.g., family, caregivers, other professionals), and communicating information from stakeholders to case managers. (D)
  3. Assist with research activities (e.g., conducting sessions, collecting and compiling data, preparing materials). (D)
  4. Participate in case discussions regarding possible procedures and methods with treatment team. (E)

Staff Training and Supervision5X
  1. Complete training modules and competency assessment to become credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). (E)
  2. Participate in on-going training and supervision to maintain competency as a Associate Behavior Technician. (E)
  3. Complete training to mastery criteria in the use of specialized data collection software (e.g., DataPal) and participate in on-going training and supervision to maintain competency with varying data collection protocols across multiple patients. (E)
  4. Complete advanced behavior management training and participate in on-going training and supervision to maintain competency on de-escalation and severe behavior management strategies. This training is also focused on remaining composed in order to make quick and effective decisions during escalated behavioral crises. (E)
  5. Assist with initial training of new Associate Behavior Technician staff. (D)
  6. Meet regularly with the treatment team (e.g., RBTs, BCBAs, case managers) and report variables that may affect patient or treatment procedures. (E)
