Responsibilities and Duties

RESPONSIBILITY	TIME SPENT PERCENTAGE	TASKS
Supervison	45	1. Supervises an assigned shift of subordinate Campus Security Officers 2. Plans, organizes and establishes work priorities 3. Ensures that workloads are fairly distributed 4. Keeps superiors informed of shift performance and activities 5. Maintains adequate staffing to handle anticipated workload 6. Ensures that assigned equipment is properly maintained and accounted for. 7. Monitors field activities of subordinates on calls 8. Responds to subordinates# questions or requests for assistance 9. Follows up on assignments to ensure that deadlines are met, and quality of work is satisfactory. (E)
Other - Performs other duties as needed	25	Post and Patrol: 1. Cover duties of assigned Campus Security Officer posts as needed to provide sufficient coverage. 2. Responds to service related calls as assigned. 3. Provides assistance to officers as necessary. (E) Electronic Security Systems: 1. Reviews/reports needs of electronic access and security camera functions. (E)
Community Relations	15	1. Makes contacts with visitors, students, faculty and staff to establish positive working relationships. 2. Meets and promotes communications between departments. (E)
Training	10	1. Attends required in-service training to maintain proficiency in duties. 2. Develops and administers training to subordinates 3. Maintains working knowledge of pertinent laws 4. Policies and procedures, and trains subordinate staff in changes relevant to their functions. (E)
