1. Serves as a liaison to students, healthcare professionals, faculty and staff through the use of the advanced surgical training facility.
2. Assists faculty in the creation and delivery of surgical simulation training sessions.
3. Provides support for programming and operating simulators for a wide variety of clinical scenario simulation training sessions when required/requested.
4. Works autonomously to maintain organization of surgical instrumentation and surgical station set up.
5. Provides support for programming and operating simulators for a wide variety of clinical scenario simulation training sessions when required/requested.
6. Facilitate skills labs to ensure safety precautions are taken while working with cadaveric specimens, food grade tissue and animal tissue.
7. Takes appropriate measures to properly handle tissue types and the correct disposable method with biohazard, solutions and tissue.
8. Assists with recording and camera functions pertaining to OR equipment including CAE, in light cameras, high definition monitors, Canvas modules and Haivision.

Training Program Development35

1. Creates, ope-rationalizes, and coordinates innovative surgical training ideas, exercises, scenarios and identifies opportunities for technology improvement and curriculum integration.
2. Assists Supervisor and/or Faculty in the development of educational, clinical, and surgical outcomes.
3. Assist in the delivery of Inter-professional educational events.
4. Meets with faculty and assists in the initial design and ongoing delivery of courses.
5. Collaborates with the IISC leadership team for the strategic direction of the Progressive Anatomy and Surgical Skills floor

Operations support25

1. Assist in the scheduling of simulation center resources and coordination among various users to ensure that all users are able to access the lab when necessary.
2. Works with the program management, faculty and staff to conduct regular evaluations and critiques of programs through soliciting recommendations from both internal and external customers.
3. Maintain records of repairs to equipment as well as perform biannual inventories of equipment, task trainers, instrumentation and consumables.
4. Ensures organization of the lab by setting out and storing task trainers, appropriate instrumentation, and equipment and consumables needed.
5. Assists with inventory, ordering, organized stocking and replenishing of consumable supplies that support the simulation activities.
6. Preparation and handling of cadaveric tissue for educational use
7. Works directly with cadaveric tissue including receiving, maintaining, storing, set up and positioning through appropriate processes.
8. Assists with maintaining an accurate inventory of tissue received, utilized and shipped out of the facility.
9. Runs and maintains the instrument washer and sterilizer for the cleaning and sterilization of instruments and equipment
10. Receives deliveries and assists with outgoing equipment with knowledge of the dock area and functions.
11. Order surgical training supplies and equipment for the surgical floor through eSHOP.
12. Supports the SAGES testing center through set up and proctoring of exams and maintaining supplies necessary for testing.
13. Other duties as assigned

Scholarly Activity Support5

1. Assists in the identification of possible sources of funding for novel and existing programs and helps with the pursuance of funding.
2. Supports a scholarly arm of the laboratory through assisting faculty and staff in the design and implementation of research activities.
3. Assists in the preparation of reports for granting agencies.
4. Assists faculty in the preparation of papers for publication by gathering data obtained during training session(s)

Assists the Surgical Simulation Program Supervisor in monitoring the need for and researching the cost of new equipment for the enhancement of delivering content. Prepares and continually updates a simulation supply and equipment needs list to use for budgeting purposes.
