The primary responsibility of this position is to provide academic support to individual students. 
1. One-to-one meetings with students to discuss (to include but not limited to) time management, goal setting. learning strategies, testing strategies, critical thinking, problem-solving, etc. (E)
2. Serve as a liaison between students, faculty and leadership. (E)
3. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership regarding student success, retention, and graduation rates and implementation of various projects. (E)
4. Maintain electronic student records and notes. Execute surveys for student feedback and implement related programming. (E)
5. Collaborate with student services staff and faculty in identifying at-promise students and develop success strategies. (E)
6. Refer students to appropriate university and/or college resources, including counseling, accommodations, and financial aid. Communicate and work with UNMC Student Services regarding programs and events for College of Nursing students. (E)
7. Develop student success interventions, workshops, and other programs that assist in students# transition to nursing school. (E)
8. Represent, participate, and provide input on various committees, groups, or organizations as it relates to the specific needs of students and each campus. (E)
9. Develop and maintain a mentoring program for students within the College of Nursing. (E)

Group Academic Success Consultation20

This position will also be responsible for coordinating and facilitating academic success workshops for students and faculty, which includes:
1. Coordinating and facilitating guest speakers. (E)
2. Orienting incoming students to academic programs. (E)
3. Serving as Liaison to other university and college departments, including the Library and Information Technology. (E)
4. Using student feedback to create and lead workshops or learning opportunities to meet the unique needs of the class and/or campus. (E)

Student Services Support10

The position will collaborate with Student Services Coordinators to identify students in need of academic coaching services. Other duties include:
1. Work with the Student Services team during student events, such as RHOP, commencement, convocation and Stress Week as it relates to campus needs. (E)
2. Conduct interview and hiring process for both graduate assistant and peer supplemental instructors annually. (E)
3. Supervise, support and mentor Student Services graduate assistants and peer supplemental instructors. (E)
4. Participate in the planning and facilitation of campus-specific orientations. (E)
5. Update, revise and refine the academic success course for each respective incoming cohort. (E)
6. Demonstrate and utilize student success management platform and its basic functions as a relational retention tool. (E)
7. Obtain a working knowledge of the accommodations process as well as an understanding of when a referral is appropriate. (E)
8. Meeting regularly with nursing leadership and faculty for updates related to academic success. (E)
9. Hire, train and supervise graduate assistants and student staff as supplemental instructors. (E)
