Responsibilities and Duties

1. Use exam software to coordinate the construction and administration of computer-based examinations and assignments. 
2. Use exam software to manage item banking, recordkeeping, and curriculum mapping. 
3. Manage the process of question selection and assessment creation, working closely with the Director of Assessment & Evaluation, the Block Directors and Phase Directors.
4. Maintain security of examination items and student performance data. 
5. Troubleshoot common testing environment and student computer device problems. 
6. Provide assessment reports in order for the Block Directors to determine exam quality and student performance. 
7. Coordinate exam review sessions for students. 
8. Coordinate remediation exams in accordance to the College of Medicine grading policy. 
9. At the direction of the block director:
     a. Add the on-line quiz material for all blocks and include all pertinent information regarding the assessment, i.e. timing, points assigned. 
     b. If not provided by block director, assessment coordinator is responsible for contacting faculty for all information about the quizzes (timing, points, open book, etc.) 
10. Responsible for proctoring assessments. 

 

Maintain Student Grading Records25X

 

1. Using Excel, weight grades as outlined by the syllabus. 
2. Calculate grades and report results to the Senior Associate Dean, Director of Assessment & Evaluation, the Block Directors and others as needed. 
3. Report grades to students and provide grade distribution charts. 
4. Coordinate scheduling of grading committee meeting as needed. 
5. Support the Senior Associate Dean & the Director of Assessment & Evaluation in calculating composite grades and maintaining overall master grade sheet for Phase 1 and Phase 2.

1. Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management.
2. Serve as backup to OME staff as needed.

1. Schedule and facilitate OME-led focus groups.

1. Import and maintain students and student courses within the exam software. 
2. Setup LDAP login access for students within the exam software. 
3. Manage access role levels for faculty and staff. 
4. Map questions to appropriate USMLE categories 
5. Create and maintain historical log of changes made to questions – removal, modifications, additions, etc. 
6. Liaison with ITS and exam software key administrator to ensure continuity of service.

This position operates under general supervision, receiving overall direction from the Manager of the Office of Medical Education, the Director of the Office of Medical Education, and ultimately the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, with indirect supervision from the Director of Assessment & Evaluation. While guidance is provided for major decisions or policy matters, the incumbent works independently in planning, prioritizing, and executing daily responsibilities, exercising considerable judgment and discretion in problem-solving, data management, and exam coordination.
