Responsibilities and Duties

Registered Student Organization (RSO) Oversight20X
  • Provide direct support and oversight for UNO’s 200+ RSOs, including policy development, compliance enforcement, training, and leadership development for student officers.
  • Facilitate recognition and renewal processes, constitution reviews, and policy adherence across all student groups.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to ensure that RSOs operate within institutional and legal guidelines while supporting student interests.
MavSYNC Platform Management20X
  • Serve as the primary administrator of MavSYNC, UNO’s official student engagement platform powered by Presence.
  • Oversee content management, platform training, and user support for students, staff, and organizations.
  • Ensure data accuracy, manage user roles, troubleshoot issues, and generate analytics reports for student involvement metrics.
Policy, Compliance & Risk Management20X
  • Develop and ensure compliance related to pre-college programs, student organizations, and co-curricular engagement.
  • Ensure all SLI programs complies with university policies, FERPA, and risk management guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director, Risk Management, and UNO leadership on compliance documentation and incident response protocols.
Program Leadership & Development10X
  • Lead the full lifecycle (planning, implementation, evaluation) of Summer Scholars and Jumpstart, aligning program goals with institutional mission and student development frameworks.
  • Design and execute co-curricular programming focused on college readiness, leadership development, identity exploration, and time management.
  • Coordinate and deliver Monthly Maverick Workshops and other general SLI programming.
  • Support the development and implementation of micro credentialing and digital badging for leadership, career readiness, and academic enrichment experiences.
  • Develop alumni engagement strategies to foster mentorship and long-term Maverick pride among program graduates.
Student Support & Engagement10X
  • Serve as the primary mentor and support resource for Summer Scholars and Jumpstart students, offering holistic guidance on academics, admissions, scholarships, and financial aid.
  • Facilitate workshops and individual coaching in leadership, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy.
  • Serve as a liaison to the NU Foundation for student involvement in the Wear Black Give Back campaign, cultivating philanthropic awareness and engagement among students.
Operations & Logistics10X
  • Coordinate logistics for pre-college program operations including housing, meals, transportation, academic materials, emergency response, and event planning.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student staff, peer mentors, and seasonal program assistants.
  • Manage program applications, participant onboarding, and communications.
Assessment & Strategic Reporting10X
  • Lead efforts in program assessment, including learning outcome measurement, student satisfaction, and long-term impact tracking.
  • Analyze and present data to inform continuous improvement, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and present reports to stakeholders including leadership, donors, and external partners.

This Program Manager will be working with prospective students and their families, current students, the campus community, and the community at large. A high level of problem solving, critical thinking, and on-the-spot decision making plays a large part with this position. This also includes the confidentiality and sensitivity of dealing with students.


Impact


Decisions made by the Program Manager will have an indirect impact on the students who are in contact with this individual and/or attend programs put on by this area. Erroneous actions could result in a poor reputation for the division, the office, and the University as a whole.


Interactions


The Program Manager will be interacting with a wide range of constituents. This includes prospective students and their families, high school counselors, current students, vendors, community agencies, colleagues, etc. on a daily basis. Strong communication skills are a must in this position. Will interacts frequently with various UNO departments including University Housing, University Relations, Milo Bail Student Center Staff, Deans and Department heads, etc. in order to identify and effectively work towards mutual goals and interests to help the students.
