| Strategic Vision and Consultation | 25 | X | Working closely with the AVP of Learning Technologies and IT Strategy as well as the NU ITS Senior Leadership team, develop and execute strategies for identifying, piloting, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies to support institutional goals and academic excellence. The primary area of focus is technologies that are directly related to teaching and learning, although technologies may also be used for other aspects of the university including research and operations. Continually scan, read, consume, and monitor a wide range of channels and inputs to understand and leverage outstanding opportunities for NU. |
| Academic Integration | 25 | X | Work with faculty, instructional designers, and various members of NU ITS to pilot and begin to incorporate new technologies – such as AI and digital tools – into curriculum design processes, instructional practices, and assessment strategies to enhance student learning experiences. Through exceptional listening and highly effective communication skills, develop both a thorough understanding of needs/goals and also align to promising tools on the market. |

Strong familiarity with the practical application of technology in the teaching and learning process. Excellent communication, listening and education skills. Ability to engage with and manage a wide variety of high priority projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain partnerships. Under the direction of and in partnership with the NU ITS Security team, implement and maintain security strategies, policies, and standards to protect University assets. Responsible for actively researching and reviewing security practices to make recommendations based on institutional risk and operational impact. |
Must be comfortable with regularly solving day-to-day problems while knowing when and how to elevate bigger issues appropriately. |
This position will be involved in developing and executing strategies for identifying, piloting, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies to support institutional goals and academic excellence across the NU system. Through interaction and collaboration with the NU community and other institutions, this position will be instrumental in the evolution and sustainability of emerging technology efforts. Failure to provide accurate information will be detrimental to the University in their use of emerging technology. |
Must be skilled at balancing multiple perspectives while moving efforts forward. Must manage conflict well and be comfortable addressing differences directly and professionally. Regularly interacts with vendors to understand and negotiate pricing options in a rapidly changing environment. |
