Responsibilities and Duties

First-year seminar coordination and development30X
  • Assist with the coordination of a first-year seminar course.
  • Recruit, select, train, and support instructors.
  • Develop, monitor, evaluate, and update academic skills curriculum on a regular basis.
  • Assist with assessing course effectiveness.
Student support and guidance30X
  • Provide individual support and guidance to conditionally admitted students, as well as other at-promise students, to support their achievement of academic success, retention, and progress towards graduation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Loper Success Hub to ensure effective delivery of services.
Peer support program supervision25X
  • Supervise peer support program (Peer Success Coaching), which includes recruiting, selecting, training, and evaluating student employees.
  • Develop peer support services that can be delivered individually or in groups.
  • Promote services to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Utilize campus data systems (PeopleSoft, Stellic, CRM) to proactively identify students to target for support.
Loper Success Hub support and Orientation activities coordination15X
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Tutoring & Academic Support Department and the Loper Success Hub
    • Assisting with coordination and planning of orientation activities for students identified as at-promise (for example, a summer bridge program)
    • Supporting other student success programs within the Loper Success Hub
    • Developing relationships with faculty and staff around campus to support student success and retention efforts
    • Serving on university committees.
