Clinical Intervention Leadership30X

Serve as the primary university staff member responding to student mental health crises. Provide short-term stabilization, risk assessment, and behavioral health consultation. Develop and implement safety plans, and coordinate follow-up care for students in distress. Oversee the university’s crisis intervention protocols and triage systems that ensure effective response and support across all campuses.

Community Mental Health Partnerships30X

Assist with managing referrals to long-term mental health providers, contracted providers and other community-based mental health resources.  Maintain collaborative relationships with community providers (SAFE center, Region 3, Richard Young, Nebraska Collegiate Prevention Alliance (NECPA); South Central Behavioral Health)

Compliance, Prevention, and Wellness Education20X

Serve a compliance support role related to mental health and student wellbeing, including responsibilities as the University’s Confidential Advisor. Support institutional compliance with federal and state mandates such as the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, Title IX, VAWA, and the Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act. Chair the CSART Committee.  Coordinate university-wide mental health education and prevention campaigns, awareness initiatives, and training for faculty, staff, and students. Provide safety planning, outreach, and education on wellbeing, violence prevention, and student support resources. Coordinate student health surveys and programs including American College Health/National College Health survey, NECPA (Nebraska Collegiate Prevention Alliance), and the Nebraska Assessment of College Health Behaviors Survey.

CARE and Threat Assessment Team Leadership15X

Serve as a member of the CARE Team and attend all meetings, serve on the University’s Threat Assessment Team when needed. Provides direction and intervention for students in crisis or concerning events, including with mental health staff, providing victim advocacy, and working with staff and students affected.

Ability to execute collaborative programs for student support within a comprehensive plan that addresses students’ changing needs in belonging, wellbeing and academic success supports based on utilization of campus data. Must demonstrate ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of different student populations. Understanding and experience with budgets and management utilizing funding from a variety of sources. Effective communication with faculty, administrators, staff, students, and the general public.
