Assesses and counsels UNK students in individual session or group settings regarding psychological/emotional problems or needs.

Maintains timely, appropriate, accurate, and complete records, correspondence; safeguards confidential client information.

Treatment Planning10X

Develops and implements therapeutic treatment plans; adept at using the DSM 5 for treatment planning.

Crisis Intervention5X

Implements crisis intervention/referral services as necessary.

Team Collaboration5X

Works as a team player by actively participating in weekly staff meetings and departmental meetings. Maintains positive working relationships with colleagues from within cross-professional disciplines.

Outreach and Education5X

Provides outreach/education (presentations/trainings) as directed by the Associate Director of UNK Counseling.

Networks and collaborates with UNK professionals to provide appropriate resources for UNK students.

Requires specialized knowledge of college mental health needs and trends. Possesses the credentials to provide mental health counseling and supervision. Experience in crisis management and diagnostic skills. Knowledge of counseling best practices and standards of practice as governed by the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics. Possesses public speaking skills and strong organizational skills.

The ability to apply critical thinking in problem solving. Able to make sound decisions based on specialized knowledge of mental health practices under the guidance of the American Counseling Association.
