Responsibilities and Duties

Manage and troubleshoot files received from the U.S. Department of Education (ED), including both FTI and non-FTI file types.

Understand and support the full ISIR processing flow:

  • Receiving incoming files
  • Sending corrections
  • Reviewing matches, flags, and comment codes

Maintain working knowledge of ED-published annual documentation related to Reject Codes, Comment Codes, and C-Flags and translate these requirements into institutional processes (checklists, workflows, and queries).

Support Pell Grant and Federal Student Loan operations, including:

  • Eligibility review
  • Awarding and disbursement logic
  • File transmission to and from COD
  • Reconciliation with internal systems
  • Origination and disbursement
  • File exchange and error resolution
  • Monthly and year-end reconciliation
System Configuration & Testing25X
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of data tables, fields, and relational concepts to support accurate reporting and troubleshooting.
  • Identify appropriate data sources and combine them into reports or queries that support office operations.
  • Apply basic logical reasoning skills when assisting with packaging configuration, including use of Equation Engine or similar rule-based tools.
  • Conduct thorough testing of system changes in lower environments before deployment to production.
Awarding & Packaging Operations20X
  • Assist in batch awarding setup and execution by understanding core awarding concepts and translating them into system configuration.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve issues related to missing information, conflicting data, flags, and code-based rejections.
  • Develop and maintain queries and checklists required for accurate awarding
Student/Parent Support & Troubleshooting20X
  • Provide Tier 2 support for issues related to student, parent, and guest self-service portals.
  • Diagnose and communicate solutions for system-based errors or questions.
