Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide professional academic, career, and program advising to online students, including course selection, degree planning, and navigating institutional policies.# 

  • Support students in creating academic goals and developing plans to achieve degree completion.# 

  • Identify at-risk students and proactively engage with them to provide resources and support.# 

  • Complete student program supporting documentation and process necessary requests as needed# 

Student Needs Assessment25X
  • Conduct regular reviews of students’ academic progress, identifying areas of concern and collaborating on solutions.# 

  • Facilitate referrals to campus resources such as Loper Success Hub, tutoring, financial aid, career services, and counseling.# 

Collaboration and Reporting15X
  • Act as a liaison between students and academic departments to ensure seamless communication regarding program requirements, curriculum updates, experiential learning, and degree progress.# 

  • Prepare reports and data summaries for academic departments and university leadership, including course load projections, recruitment trends, student progress, retention metrics and other data sets as needed.  

  • Participate in program review and evaluation processes to enhance the online student experience with the support of leadership.# 

Outreach and Retention15X
  • Maintain consistent communication with online students via email, phone, and virtual meetings to support retention and engagement.# 

  • Utilize technology including CRM and student audits to activate recruitment through enrollment activities which grow and retain the online student population. 

  • In partnership with marketing and leadership, develop orientation materials, workshops, or webinars tailored to online student populations.#

  • Stay informed on best practices in online advising, student support, and higher education trends.# 

  • Represent the UNK Online and/or the assigned subject/department on committees, task forces, or special projects as assigned.#
