| 60 | X | • Responsible for the proper function, maintenance, upkeep, and repair of all facilities operational functions of the MONA, including but not limited to: security systems; fire suppression; HVAC and boilers; Lighting; Electrical; Plumbing; and other building functions to maintain controls and ensure full working order of all equipment.
• Administers on-going building activities and equipment maintenance, including wall touch ups, humidifiers, lighting, air filters and other items as necessary. • Conducts maintenance and inspections of electrical, plumbing, security/fire systems. • Conducts and performs maintenance of external facilities requirements including roofing, windows, landscaping and sidewalks • Coordinates and supervises custodian and cleaning services, either by contract or staffed positions. Performs custodian duties in absence of custodian. • In conjunction with Museum Team, coordinates the use of events materials and equipment including but not limited to: tables and chairs; sound equipment moves; temporary events materials; and event contractors and partners. Supports staff to set up special events. • In conjunction with Museum Curator, manages ongoing monitoring of the condition and appearance of Museum galleries and public spaces; provides regular walk-through of galleries to ensure maintenance of exhibitions. • Generates ongoing calendar | |

The Facilities Coordinator should have knowledge of building operations, maintenance, safety procedures, security, vendor management, and applicable codes and regulations, along with strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. The position requires the ability to coordinate repairs and maintenance, manage contractors and facility-related projects, respond effectively to emergencies, maintain accurate records and budgets, and ensure a safe, secure, accessible, and well-maintained environment for staff, visitors, collections, and programs. |
The Facilities Coordinator must be able to quickly assess facility issues, identify potential causes, and determine practical, cost-effective solutions while prioritizing safety, security, and the protection of museum collections and facilities. Strong problem-solving skills include anticipating maintenance and operational challenges, coordinating appropriate responses with staff and vendors, and making sound decisions in both routine situations and unexpected emergencies. |
The Facilities Manager would have a significant impact on the organization by ensuring its buildings, grounds, systems, and workspaces are safe, functional, secure, and well maintained. The Facilities Manager would regularly communicate with outside vendors and contractors regarding building maintenance, repairs, inspections, security, cleaning, landscaping, utilities, and other facility-related services. This position would obtain quotes, coordinate schedules and access, monitor the quality and completion of work, resolve issues, and ensure vendors meet the museum’s safety, budget, and operational requirements. |
