| Intramural and Club sports programming | 50 | X | Provide coordination and oversight of intramural leagues and events including activity implementation and participant conduct. Address participants regarding policies, rules of various sports, and behavioral expectations, enforcing rules and policies and responding to participant conduct issues as needed. Coordinate schedule of intramural and club sports via IMLeagues and develop communication for timely updates to participants. Submit facility requests to designated scheduler within established timelines, policies, and procedures. Proactively identify safety/risk management concerns at indoor/outdoor facilities, as well as within the sport programs at large and inform the Assistant Director of issues and resolutions. Assist administrative and logistical operations of a newly rejuvenated club sports program. Work directly with club sport student group leadership in planning and coordination of all operations, i.e. budget, purchasing, equipment, travel, competition, and future planning. |
| Personnel management and supervision of student staff | 35 | Recruit, hire, onboard, train, supervise, mentor, and facilitate professional development for approximately 40 student employees. Determine employee schedules, monitoring for accuracy and adequate supervision; adjust scheduling process based on area needs and budget; and oversee bi-weekly payroll approval. Develop and lead sport programs student staff meetings and trainings in collaboration with the Assistant Director, covering topics such as policies, procedures, inclusivity, customer service, risk management, and sport-specific trainings, as well as the supervisor-level staff education and training. Collaborate with the Assistant Director on merit increases for student staff as well as student supervisor and manager promotions. Monitor student employee safety certifications for compliance with stated requirements in each job description. Determine components and processes for student employee mentoring and recognition program(s); implement, evaluate, and make decisions on modifications to improve employee performance and retention. Evaluate intramural officials# knowledge, mechanics, and performance during games and provide feedback. | |
| General Campus Recreation support tasks | 15 | Assist with department goals and collaborating on department-wide events/initiatives. Assist in strategic planning and assessment including establishing learning outcomes for student participants and employees within the program area. Responsible for creating, implementing and assessing Student Affairs curriculum. Collaborate with Assistant Director to provide inclusive programs and services to underrepresented populations. Other duties as assigned. |
