| Lead & Participate in the Essential Functions of Custodial Activities | 80 | Provide training in areas based on department established standards: 1. Infection Control: Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, including the use of approved cleaning agents and techniques. 2. Sanitization: Clean and disinfect patient rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, and common areas following established healthcare standards. 3. Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain custodial equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely. As well as ensuring it is properly and safely used. 4. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to spills, accidents, or other emergencies promptly and according to protocol. 5. Provide work directions to assigned custodians on job schedules, work orders and coverage. The proper use of labeling, dilution, storage and the use of all chemicals. | |

Basic methods & use of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment used in custodial work and routine maintenance. Proper methods of storing chemicals, equipment, materials and supplies. Proper lifting techniques. Learn and apply knowledge of the schedules, procedures and use of equipment and supplies used in custodial work. Learn appropriate safety precautions and procedures. Learn & provide directions to others. Communicate effectively with others. Work cooperatively with others. Work independently with little direction. Physical Demands; Standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing up/down stairs, and working from ladders & platforms at various heights. Lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling 20 to 50 pounds up to one-third of the hours workeddaily (100lbs max with assistance), 10 to 25 pounds for more than one-third but not more than two thirds of the hours worked daily, or 10 pounds for more than two-thirds of the hours worked daily. Working Conditions; Custodians perform the majority of their work indoors with some instances of extreme heat (due to lack of air conditioning) and some instances of outdoor exposure (removing trash, scooping snow/ice, cleaning windows, and moving between buildings).
