Project Integration Responsibilities75X

Assist with primary audio-visual systems installation specialist on projects under guidance from Classroom Build and Design team. This includes both classroom and service center project work.

Verify equipment and materials inventories for projects in-progress.

Provide initial setup and configuration of audio-visual systems hardware and update as needed to ensure proper system operation.

Work with other ITS functional teams to insure established organizational best practices are utilized for security and networking of audio-visual systems.

Provide guidance and oversight of audio-visual contractors on projects as needed to ensure full system operation and adherence to standards and best practices.

Track project progress using organizational best practices.

Communicate with project stakeholders in a timely manner and attend project meetings as needed.

Understand and follow UNL AV Design standards for all projects.

Provide advice and expertise to project designers regarding the design and implementation of audio-visual systems.

Support Responsibilities25

As a member of the Learning Spaces team, provide high level (Tier 3) technical support of audio-visual systems in General Purpose classrooms and areas covered by service level agreements.

Respond to support tickets and track responses utilizing organizationally defined best practices.

Troubleshoot audio-visual systems in person and via remote support tools.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities


Thorough knowledge of AV or other installed IT systems and computer technologies. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Faculty/Staff with a wide range of computing backgrounds. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Employee is on-call -- this responsibility may require the necessity to work outside of regular business hours. Under the direction of and in partnership with the NU Security team, implement and maintain security strategies, policies, and standards to protect University assets. Responsible for actively researching and reviewing security practices to make recommendations based on institutional risk and operational impact.

 


Problem Solving - Decision Making


This position is responsible for formulating initiatives that enable faculty and staff to learn about and to incorporate instructional technologies into their work. In the commission of these duties, the incumbent encounters a wide range of problems from a diverse group of users. This position makes decisions relating to the most effective way of communicating the information and implements these decisions into the programs.

The success of the initiatives supported by this position will contribute to the acceptance and success of integrating new technologies into instructional technology at the University.
