Responsibilities and Duties

RSO Advisement:25X

Advise a student organization connected to SLICE (University Program Council or Dance Marathon) or provide support and advise new RSOs through the recognition process and first year of existence, giving guidance and support to the executive team and general members in areas including university policies, risk management, student leadership, recruitment, and more.

RSO Administrative Support:20X

Provide administrative support for RSOs such as event planning and registration, annual orientations, contract processing, and complying with university policies and procedures.

Leadership Development:15X

Implement leadership development programs related to the Social Change Model for campus student organizations and the student body.

Programming Administration:10X

Assist with coordination and execution of programs to create a sense of community and belonging to aid the success of students engaged in RSOs

Student Personnel Management:10X

Assist with the hiring, training and leading the team of student staff.

RSO Database Support:5X

Provide support for the RSO database software system and utilize and train student staff and RSO advisors and student leaders to use the system effectively.

RSO Liaison:5

Serve as liaison between university departments who work closely with RSOs and SLICE.

Assessment:5X

Conduct assessments related to SLICE initiatives and prepare and publish relevant research findings and/or program/project reports for internal and external use.

Other duties as assigned.5

Serve as an active member of the SLICE Leadership Team and assist in the development and execution of the SLICE strategic plan. Other duties as assigned.

Ability to analyze and appropriately communicate and enforce University and departmental policies to parents, students, faculty and staff. Ability to develop and execute programs that will be attended by the student community. Ability to analyze information and data to make appropriate recommendations. Be able to be an informed resource and make referrals to other departments. Must be comfortable with public speaking and able to manage time effectively.

Interactions


Will be providing training to student leaders of Recognized Student Organizations as well as advising a complex large student organization. This position is focused on interactions with a wide variety of people.
