  • Design and deliver professional learning experiences for early childhood professionals in a variety of formats, including coaching, webinars, book studies, communities of practice, and in-person events. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strong relationships to foster alignment between childcare providers, schools/districts, school staff, and other providers for children from Birth to Grade 3.
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to support elements of equity, quality, and continuity into coaching and professional learning experiences that match the interests and needs of the community, and utilize data for continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with internal project resources and external partners to contribute to the development of materials and learning tools used and shared in community child care settings, schools and with community partners.
  • Identify and support professional learning needs for professionals working in child care and school settings serving children and families from birth through grade three to provide educational content, events and workgroups in collaboration with other project resources as needed.
  • Support the development of educational leaders and coaches.
  • Proactively coordinate content details for in-person and virtual professional learning experiences, including written and oral communication with participants and presenters. 
  • Facilitate virtual#and in person workshops and collaborative#learning experiences among educators that promote sharing of ideas, support, and resources.## 
  • Stay abreast of research and trends involving learning science, adult learning theory, professional development, and educator training.#

Must be able to function as a team member on projects and collaborate with other functional areas internal and external to the Institute. Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness are essential for purposes of planning and coordinating work, composing documents and reports, and exchanging information, plans, and objectives.

In addition to required qualifications, this position requires the ability to work under pressure and with stringent timelines, respond quickly to shifting priorities, make sound priority judgments, and work independently and in a team setting. Must possess strong research skills including the ability to collect, compile, and analyze facts, draw conclusions and recommend solutions. Employee is required to have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain orally and in written communication diverse technical topics in easy-to-understand language to create and nurture a professional community of adult learners. Demonstrates evidence of professional growth, including leadership and participation in a wide range of significant professional development activities.

Technical Skills

In addition to required qualifications, this position may need to train others on tools and must be proficient with email, Internet browsers, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) to plan, coordinate work, prepare data, process documentation, and create communication materials or informational presentations. This position must be willing to learn and utilize new technologies and keep current on technical skills and knowledge of university applications and systems as well as contribute to the development of systems and structures to improve school as a hub practice.

Interactions


Relationships with various entities both internal and external to the university are involved. Employee will work extensively with staff at the Buffett Institute, external constituencies, and with NU central administration and campuses. Employee must have the ability to work collaboratively, as well as independently, in a complex environment.
